Features of Natural Interest

The Cayman Islands support large areas of mangroves, including the Central Mangrove Wetland on Grand Cayman. At 3500 ha, this is the largest inland mangrove in the Caribbean. Its geomorphology, sitting at the heart of the island, is unique. The mangrove forest provides a range of ecosystem services, including draining and filtering storm-water from surrounding terrestrial areas.
